Why We Work with Real People

Black watch pointed at 6 o'clock

If you’ve seen our work, you’ve probably noticed a pattern: we love telling real stories with real people. No hired actors, no stiff scripts—just authentic moments that connect with an audience.

But working with real people comes with its own set of challenges. It’s not as simple as casting, scripting, and showing up to shoot. There’s a lot of planning involved, and the logistics have to be dialed in. Here’s how we make it happen.

Step 1: Finding the Right People

Sometimes, a project starts with a specific person—they’re the heart of the story, and we build everything around them. Other times, it starts with the message—what do we need to communicate? Once we know that, we find the right people to help tell that story in the most authentic way possible.

Step 2: Locking in the When and Where

This is where things get tricky. The perfect subject might be available—but not for six months. Or maybe they’re free next week—but live across the country. While we’re juggling schedules, our creative team is mapping out shot lists, interview questions, and visual approaches to bring everything together.

Step 3: Creating a Comfortable Set

Most of the people we work with aren’t used to being on camera. That’s why we keep our crew small and our process flexible. A relaxed, natural environment leads to better interviews, more genuine reactions, and a final piece that feels real—because it is.

Step 4: Where the Magic Really Happens

Once we’ve captured everything, our editors take over—weaving together interviews, visuals, and real-life moments into a story that hits home. This is where everything clicks, and a collection of clips becomes something impactful.

That’s how we bring real stories to life. No actors, no staged moments—just the power of real people sharing real experiences. And in our opinion, that’s what makes all the difference.
